Spring Lucky Dip

I LOVE a swap

The annual EB Dolls Quilt Swap is an event to which I always look forward to participating in.

“Spring” was the theme this year, and it was also a random swap.  No partner to make for, just make what you like.

In Melbourne, spring is often associated with lots of grey, windy days and rain.  It also showcases the new growth of the season, and the warm days, with blue sky promise days of sun and fun.

I love HST, so it is no surprise I used them again.  This dolls quilt was inspired by the lovely Megan at Canoe Ridge Creations

I quilted with a variegated thread of pastel shades, in a spiral.   The colours sort of shimmer against the Kona Ash.

The center was free motion quilted, then I swapped to my walking foot to finish the rest.

Bound in an aqua, I am pleased with this one.
It finishes at 24 inches square

The backing is a piece of random fabric that I had in my stash.

Now to pop it into the post, off for the lucky dip!!

  2. It's very pretty! And I love that it's a bit of a twist on what would normally be considered "springish"!
