This
baby quilt has been on the work in progress pile for a while. The fabric line is Verna, by Kate Spain, for Moda ... and is the fabric which pulled me into quilting!! I love this fabric so much. I have horded yardage, and put a lovely piece on the back.
The top is
made using the off cuts from the blocks used in my sister in laws quilt, made last year.
The
quilting had eluded me, until I saw a similar chevron quilt, quilted in
swirls. I love the way it breaks up the
straight lines of the chevrons. I feel
it softens them. Feels a bit like a trip down the garden path on a spring day. Perfect for a baby girl!
I did
lose my way a few times, but overall the pattern has quilted out as I had
hoped.
This quilt means I have churned out three quilts in three weeks!! WOW!!!
Now to piece some larger tops for when my new machine comes to live here!! I will hope to be churning out more than that soon!!

It's lovely! The swirls look great against the chevrons
ReplyDeleteYou are pretty clever, girl! You are pretty, clever girl. Your quilt is too!
ReplyDeleteLove your Chevron quilt! The FMQ is perfect for this design and executed flawlessly. And wish I had the dedication to whip up 3 finished quilts in 3 weeks! Just joined your blog and hope you will join mine.
