Quilt for Mum

I love my Mum!

How much I love her, has been cemented with the birth of my own daughter.  I don’t recall ever making her anything other than the usual pencil and clag covered ‘love letters’ we wrote as children, and certainly, never something like a quilt.

I am rectifying this, immediately.

I free motion quilted in a loose, flowery, stipple.  In some places the flowers look more like butterflies.

For the back, I used a dotty minky.  It is luxurious and divine to touch and snuggle under.

Pretty swirls, fruit and flowers in fabric with coral, aqua, olive, black and cream.

A better shot of the back, which shows up the quilting lines a bit better.

Perfect joins on the binding!

I hand stitched the binding, with the final stitches being placed today following an exhilarating morning at AusKick.

Master 6 had his first kick in a game, which follows the handball, kicking, marking and running drills.

30 meters, dead eye, through the center!

In his usual style, no emotion … yet he was a tired and happy boy tonight.
